glossary - words, words, words (This section is currently under construction....and the list will be growing.....) Some currently contentious terms: Pedagogy (pèd-e-go´jê) is the art and science of educating children and is often used as a synonym for teaching. Andragogy (and-rè-go´jê) is the art and science of helping adults learn. However, there is some contention as to the actual meaning of these two terms. Many researchers and linguists believe that pedagogy is a teacher-focused model while andragogy defines an alternative to pedagogy and refers to learner-focused education of people of all ages.
